So the other thread about chins as therapy animals made me remember taking my chins into school for our "Pets" day in the Preschool class I used to "teach" with other girls. The kids had a blast, and the chins loved it too. I had these pics up on CnQ when it was still around, so I thought I'd share them here. It's definitely something not recommended for all chins, and it takes a special guy or gal to do this, especially with a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds, but my guys loved it. I mainly have pics of Popcorn, it looks like, but if I can find more, I'll post them. They're already captioned as they were used in a slideshow during the graduation for the kids.

Ash - geez - I can hardly see those pictures on my 26 inch monitor. <rolls eyes>

The kids look like they were enjoying themselves.

Wow, Ash...my screen can totally fit the whole picture.:OSarcasm:

Popcorn looks resigned to his fate of children's love, lol

Haha sorry, that's how photobucket sized them and I haven't looked at them in so long I forgot how big they were.

Popcorn was a total sweetie. I miss him soooo much. He was even sweeter than Cuda and Bella.

I have done this with several of my animals to my moms pre-school. usually when her class (school is split into two age groups 2-4 and 5-6 - mom teaches the 2-4 year olds) has a "letter of the week" that I have an animal for, I bring it in for show-and-tell. Thus far I have shared my chinchilla, chameleon, black headed caique, gerbil, mouse, hamster, hedgehog, rat, chipmunk, salamander, desert horned toad & western hognose snake. The children aren't allowed to hold the animals, but I will let them pet most of them. Now whenever I stop by the school they are asking me what I have to show them. haha.

I got thank yous from roughly 16 of the 29 students (yes, these little smart kids are writing thank yous at the age of 4...scary..) the chinchilla and chameleon were the most popular. as much as I hate speaking infront of people (theres usually teachers and parents there galking too), I love educating people about animals.

These are adorable! It's great to see kids learning how to treat animals at such a young age. Looks like everyone had a great time, including Popcorn!

No, they were supposed to replace to old URLs. They're showing up small on my screen for a little while, but now they aren't... Who knows... Dumb photo bucket.

ETA: And now they are again when I have photobucket open.

Awwww...they are really cute. My step-son's teacher has two chins in the class room. They are the class pets. This is how we ended up with Shelly. Ethan fell in love (as did I) with the girls so we bought him Shelly. Both girls love the kids. They popcorn like crazy when school starts. All of the kids are great with them. They set up a fenced in play area for them during reading time. It's a group of kids reading and two chins running and pooping all over them.
