So for as long as I can remember my mom has collected our cats whiskers. Now we have had over 45 cats in my life time so that is a ton of kitty whiskers. My mother never plucked them out just whenever we would find them laying around the house or if we got lucky outside in the dirt or field (used to live on a peach farm). Now that I have a chinchilla I thought I would carry on the tradition of collecting whiskers and have a tiny flower vase with a few in them.

I was wondering if anyone else collects whiskers or anything else silly from their animals or chins ;) Whenever I look at my moms collection of whiskers it brings back memories of the farm and all the cats and kittens we used to take care of :)

My chins shed a lot, even though they get at least three baths a week, so when ever I see little tuffs or their fur rubs off on my clothes I put it into a little plastic bag, when I get enough I'm going to do what they did with sheep's coats and make it so I can knit it into something. :D My mom thinks I'm absolutely nuts because of it.

Oh, my God, YESS!!! I am obsessed with chinchilla whiskers!!! Look at my title!!! I collect all the whiskers I find; I call them my "lucky" chinchilla whiskers!!!

I have used a few in some cards that I made for an exchange on another forum. I had the vet save Baby's whiskers for me and added some of them to a painted Kristine Kasheta wooden chinchilla as a memorial to Baby.

I LOVE MY CHINCHILLA WHISKERS!!!

I found a whisker from my husband's cat when I was dating him and saved it. When she passed after we got married I pressed it in a photo of her and we keep it on his night stand.

I collect Chipper's whiskers too. Love those chinnie whiskers! Found 4 so far, totally by accident. And I also have dreams of spinning and wearing his fuzz. The little puffs are so soft. Makes me feel like I'm recycling. :)

I found a whisker last week from one of my chins and it kinda freaked me out! I've never seen one that has fallen out. So I just sucked it up with the shop vac.

omg i luv collecting my chinchilla whiskers!!!!!!! I have two chinchillas and have been collecting their whiskers for 3 years now. For some reason i never had the heart to throw them away haha, well i counted them today and i have 82!!!!!!!!! Ya i am pretty exited i thought i might have about 30 or so but no it was 82. I can't wait to see how many i have a few years from now. how many do you have in your collection??????

Hee, I always save them if I find one too (It looks like I have about five), and I also collect Henry's fluff, when I get out any loose tufts or from when I comb him. I've threatened to knit a small blanket with it one day when I get enough, though I think even Hen thinks I'm mad!

I love chinnie whiskers, Henry's middle name is Whiskers as that's what his breeder originally named him, so I kept it as a middle name for him.
