I am going to purchase a chin spin, but i found a forum that said have them use no powder- coated finish. Is that correct?

Also I was wondering why plastic wheels are bad for chins? One of my chins doesn't chew his flying saucer and Im buying a Chin Spin for my other two right now, so I can't get him a metal one yet.

People have been suggesting no powder coating due to the peeling issue they've been having lately. As far as the problems with plastic wheels, you run into a few different issues.

a) none big enough for an adult chin to comfortably run (they stop at 12" and 15" is recommended)
b) they are plastic, therefore pose a chewing hazard
c) they are plastic, therefore not sturdy enough and break easily and are therefore a waste of money.

Ok thank you. Is it okay for now until I can get a metal one? My chin isn't a year yet until July, so he isnt full grown yet.

I'd take the plastic wheel out. From what I've heard, the plastic saucers are a piece of junk and definitely not sturdy. As far as powder coating? That's up to you.

If you order a chin spin without the powder coating from qualitycages.com, it's a little bit cheaper so why not?? If it's cheaper, and possibly safer for your chin then go for it! :)

Also, I don't know about your baby, but my boys rearrange pretty much anything light enough and I'm could easily topple a plastic one.
I debated getting a plastic one just to hold over until I got the metal, but my husband asked this:
"So if they can chew it, it can fall over easily, it can break easily and it's too small...why waste the $30 for a plastic one to tide you over when for twice that you'd have one that lasts for years and is safer, larger, and sturdier."
I love my ChinSpin :D
