I searched around for a thread with an answer but couldn't seem to find one that was recent but I don't know, I could have just missed it.

For the chin spin I know that years back it was recommended getting it without powder coating due to the powder coating chipping off. Does anyone know if that's still an issue with these wheels as of now?

It's not that the coating chips off, it's that the chin chews the edge and eats it off. My first chin, Chipper, nibbled the edge of his wheel a bit. Miesha now has that wheel and he added to that damage some. He stopped once he was satisfied that it he'd made his claim on it. I keep an eye on it but there's been no new damage since the first month. Sonic doesn't nibble his at all. If you're concerned about your chin eating the coating, ask if you can get it without the coating when you contact them to order one.

Actually, they did have a short period time when the powder coating was peeling off on both the wheels and the cage pans. I haven't heard anything about it for a while now. All of my Quality Cage Company cages and my wheel have not had the problem.

smhluvsmh: That's good to know.

DevnChip: I don't know if my chins would eat the powder coating. One of them used to bite the cage bars so i'm guessing there's a chance. I did ask about getting it without the powder coating and they told me that it wasn't recommended since their feet slip.

Cuddlebug: Yeah that's what I understood from posts years back, it's good to know that some don't have the powder coating issue though.

Thank you everyone.
