Chin rubbing nose

I'm hoping I can explain this accurately. My chin(9 wks old today) will rub his nose almost anytime it gets touched. For instance, if he's sniffing you and bumps his nose against you, he'll reach up and rub it once. If someone tries to pet/scratch him and bumps his nose, he rubs it. Just once usually. He's not rubbing it a lot and I've watched him in his cage, I don't ever see him randomly rubbing at it. So what I'm getting at is - Is this normal chin behavior? Part of me is worried he hurt his nose and that it hurts him when he bumps it against something but nothing looks unusual. He seems to have done this since I got him 2 weeks ago.

Sounds like a nose swipe... He is not hurt, but rather just cleaning.

Yep, sounds like nose swipes to me, too. It's perfectly normal for any chin that has one or more front paws.

i saw my chinchilla, ruby doing that too and at first it really scared me! but i noticed now she only does it after she sticks her nose in something gross
