ears like a bunny,
that is your first clue
kangaroo feet,
can't stand the heat,
lots and lots of poo
squirrel tail, it's bushy,
body so cushy,
you may see them in a zoo
their bark is a bluff,
furry balls of fluff,
climbs and jumps they do
whiskers like a mouse,
sleeps in a wooden house,
chews on the house too
eyes bright and shiney,
cute, chubby hiney,
excited about anything new
paws used like fingers
not one to linger,
bouncey and curious it's true
bathes in the dust,
you must earn their trust,
onery through and through
pellets and hay
that's their main stay,
an occasional treat or two

unusual? You bet,
it's a chinchilla that's who!
