chin encounters with other animals

Earlier today my chinchilla some how opened the little door on his cage and hopped in the cage with my guinea pigs.its a huge 6 ft long cage but it doesnt have a top part, its just open at the top(guinea pigs arent good climbers ). Anyhow he was just chillin out with my guinea pigs ,not acting skitish at all. but now i have the problem of fixing the door to the cage (i also built this one too,but its not open at the top)

Well, no harm done. But fix the door because next time he could take off and get into all kinds of trouble. Not to mention meeting up with less friendly animals like a dog or cat! They are escape artists, though.

I guess you have a very social chin there who was just looking for a playmate!

You must have been quite surprised to see him in there with your guinea pig
