The chin in the picture is a mosaic. Any chin with a white gene, such as a mosaic or a pink white or a TOV white, etc. will fade or darken as they age. Most often, whites are born darker and lighten as they grow up although sometimes they will keep their markings or their markings may darken.

In your first chin's case, he sounds like a pink white (has a beige and white gene). Over time, the beige markings darkened.

yeah my lil mosaic's white is turning to a lighter grey, and he's started to get darker blacky bits around his arm and tail- sooo cute! I think his mum was a pink white (i couldn't see as she was huddled away with new kits) and his dad was a beautiful ebony!

So I went ahead and bought her bringing my herd to 4. Her mother was almost all white accept for a few dark spots kinda like snoopy in charlie brown and the father is a gray but looks very peppered so I dont think that hes just a standard.

she is far smaller then the other chins so I have her in her own cage but she is only or foot or two away from the other chins. Ive let the other chins smell her and the two older chins a black female I think is around a year and a half and a male gray standard im guessing hes about a year old seem to be very interested in meeting her but my beige female who I think is about 6 months old wants to bite her and seems to get upset when the other chins are sniffing her.

Anytime you bring a new chin home, you should do a quarantine (I do 30 days) in a separate room with no contact between your new chin and the others. Also, you should wash your hands between handling the new and old chins. This quarantine period is to help the new chin adjust without the stress of other chins. You monitor food/water intake and poo/peeing during this time and quarantine also serves to prevent the spread of any illnesses the new chin may be carrying or hiding. If the chin was exposed to a virus or pathogenic bacteria or fungus, it should show within the first 30 days. It's better to catch things early before it's spread to the rest of your animals.

thank you for the advice ill move him to another room right away. I really should have thought of that I do it with my tarantulas so it just makes sense. Is there anything I should look for in the above listed items (food/water intake and poo/peeing) that will tip me off to issues?
