I need a new light fixture for my room ( that is where Burrito is) and I am wondering if a celing fan would be good. Would it lower the temperature in my room at all? My room is generally a little hotter than the rest of the house ( I dont know why, its at the side of the house and dosent get direct ...but my AC vent seems to not blow too much air out. ) and it would be great if it would lower the temperature in there a bit. I already snuck around the house and close all the vents half-way so I can get more air in my room and it hellped a little bit. My parents usualy set the temerature in my house at around 73ish but I always lower it to anywhere from 64-68. (they are probably always wondering why it is so low, lol).:)

Restrict the vent closest to the thermostat - even set at 73, you can make your room 70!

Yes a ceiling fan will help a bit because it will improve air circulation in the room. My motto is always that little things add up so every little thing you can do to make your baby comfortable is worth doing! :)

A ceiling fan will not acutally do anything to cool the room. Circulating air feels cool to us because it causes our sweat to evaporate, lowering our skin temperature. Chins do not sweat, so there is nothing to evaporate. Air circulation may feel cooler to us, but does not actually affect the air temperature.

Air circulation makes a difference. In my room my vents are on the ceiling, so the fan moving actually pushes the cold air down. I guess in certain circumstances it would cool the room better, like in mine, but the most it would do is keep air moving, which is good to have anyways.

Also, if the hallway outside of your chin room is cooler, a fan can help pull the cooler air in.

It might help, to push the cool air down, but it wont do much else then that. But it cant hurt to have it. If you like it. Go for it.

I agree, you can always get like a box fan that is designed to go in a window to help pull air from the outside in, or blow air from the inside out. They work wonderfully and don't cost much at all.

This is what I do. I have air conditioning in my bedroom which is across from my chin room, so when it's warm I put one of those big box fans on the floor and blow the cool air into the chins bedroom. Works great and I don't have to worry about any of them getting hit directly with the fan or the air conditioner.
