is cardboard fatal or really bad when injested?

i bought my chinni a new home for his cage..and he really doesnt like it! i was thinking of making a very temporary home for him until i get to the pet store- out of a cardboard box that isnt dyed or anything.
is this a bad for him? he tends to bite at anything thats newspaper or cardboard haha.

let me know !

Unless he really is eating it, it's fine. I use cereal boxes and tissue boxes with my chins and there's never any problems. They shred them into tiny pieces...I suppose that makes it easier to compost, so the chins are performing a valuable service after all? A lot of people will use the soda boxes from 12 packs for "temporary" housing.

I make paper bag houses for the chins all the time out of little brown bags and the bags I get at the grocery. They love them!

Boxes are fine as long as they aren't actively nomnomnoming on them. My girls have an empty soda box they frolic in during playtime. They take bites at it and try to shred it, but other than that...

Those paper bag houses look like a great idea, Susan! Also, Lemon is adorable!

Ok thanks. Yeah he bites it and I can't tell if he's eating it or if he's justshredding it .. I think he will be fine with it :)
