a friend of mine is taking her chinchilla home for xmas.

she'll be flying home and taking her chinnie with here. the flight is about...an hour and a half maybe?

i originally wanted to take gizmo home with me but didnt want to do the drive. i have a pet sitter for him but knowing that someone will be taking theirs home makes me a bit...jealous. lol.

so can they fly? how would this affect their little ears?!?!

Yes, they can fly. There are quite a few breeders who ship their animals via planes. Only certain companies do so however and there are several steps that have to be taken to ship them I believe.

They can fly and they can even go in the cabin with you on some airlines as long as their carrier fits under the seat.

Southwest and delta I believe both accept pets ( they are affiliates I believe as well )

It can be expensive to ship. Right now I can't ship very easily at all because the airlines cut back all their animal flights - there are none through Tucson. I have to drive up to Phoenix to drop them off...normally that means being there at 6 am or so, and I have to leave my house at 4 am.
