I just scheduled a weeks vacation away from the kids, or should I say my kid vacation away from us......lol

They are going to church camp at the Storm Mountain Center in the Black Hills the second week of June. I just wish I could afford a family week and go too, but the kids get 75% of the fees paid by the Church. They are so excited.

Anyone else sending kids to camps this summer?

I don't have kids to send to summer camp...but I'm a summer camp director so camp is my life!! :) I hope they have an AWESOME time! Camp can do wonderful things for kids.

I'm not sure how many will be in my daughters group, but my son's the max is 10 (the reason we scheduled so early). The camp is an old gold miners camp and there is still one open mine and several hiking and logging trails.

I went to church camp a few years ago. I was an awesome week :) This year, i'll be too busy with college classes and hopefully getting a job, though...

We often do this really fun family camp every Memorial weekend. It's at the horse camp I used to go to as a kid. It's a Christian place and I just love it. This particular weekend is called Family work camp, it's free you just have to pay $40 for food, this covers the whole family all 3 days, can't beat that. Check in Friday, get your cabin, meet people, have dinner and decide what you'll do on Saturday when you work all day painting chopping wood, sewing, deep cleaning, etc. Then Sunday is fun day, there is a state park nearby called Silver Falls State Park. If you were to walk the whole trail which is IDK like 12 miles you walk around like 15 huge waterfalls including several you walk behind the falls. Monday you finish up chores. Campfires, singing, worship it's so great we drive 300 miles one way. But I hope to sell the house and move back to Salem Oregon.

That sounds like a fabulous place and a great opportunity to recharge your batteries and have great fun as a family as well:wink3:

My 14 yr old attends "Breakfast with God"....rather like a Senior Sunday School, but with tea n toast or an Ulster Fry thrown in lol!
They have annual weekend breaks away and do outdoor activities etc and have praise times as well and he loves it:thumbsup:
