So...my boyfriend and I have been together for about 3 1/2 years now. I recently moved with him 150 miles north of where I've grown up in Southern California. We live in the desert now and he promised me a chin building(see why I moved with him??) AND said I can possibly have more buildings as time goes on! Anyhow...we moved here in October/November and since he had short notice of the time he needed to move here for his job, we moved into the first available place that would allow animals. Unfortunately it is a two bedroom apartment that is only about 900sqft total...so it is small. My 60+ chinnies(the number has grown since we moved) have the second bedroom and there is just nowhere to store anything. Tyson(boyfriend) decided he wanted to see about buying a house. He's a disabled veteran so with a veteran's loan we can get a house with no down payment and without paying closing costs. So the money we would need to get a place was minimal. We had a realtor start showing us around and after putting in a couple offers on other houses and losing them to other bids...a house popped up on the market that looked perfect! For starters it was owned by the VA...3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a HUGE bonus room in the back and a large backyard with plenty of space for a chinchilla building. The house it a total of 1700sqft inside so we'll have a good amount of room. There's a few things that need changed/renovated but his dad built houses for over 40yrs so we have help, lol! Anyhow...that was over a month ago now and I'm posting because Tyson signed the final papers today! I am incredibly nervous and excited and we should have our first house by Wed!

Here are some pictures!

No pictures of the backyard! :( We should be doing the final walk through tomorrow though and I'll be taking pictures of things that I forgot to take pictures of, lol

I can't wait until you're moved in! All that extra room...I'm excited for you. :D YAY! You're ACTUALLY getting to move into a HOUSE! This is so awesome. :D Just be aware that it is going to be SO MUCH work. It's totally worth it because it will be all yours (and Tyson's.)

I didn't see the picture of the guest bedroom I'll be staying in? And it totally cracks me up to see a fireplace in a house in freaking California! Does it even get cold there???!

I'm so happy you are moving! I know you've wanted too for a long time!

Maybe next year Ash and I will decend upon you for a visit woot! I hope when I do I get some dumplings! And not the chin kind lol!

That bonus room is GORGEOUS. Plus the hardwood looks perfect for sock hockey! The whole place looks wonderful.

Laurie, it can get pretty cold at night in the desert sometimes.

Tab, the house is beautiful. I'm glad no one beat out your bid this time so you can quit stressing about it. Now you just gotta get that chin building up and running and you'll be all set. :)

Laurie - She doesn't have a spare room for you, she has one for ME. We're the couple here alright? <snicker>

Tab this is so great! Congratulations and you'll definitely have your hands full redecorating and planning! ;) Next March I can stay with you and Tyson ;)! How far are you from Palm Springs?

Laurie - She doesn't have a spare room for you, she has one for ME. We're the couple here alright? <snicker>

Wow, I can't believe you put it out there for the world to see Peggy  I feel so betrayed, lol!

Thanks everyone! We did the final walk through and I'm getting really excited now! I just don't know where to start with fixing it up, lol! We'll probably start on the front of the house and get it looking nice again then start working on the inside of the house. The chin building will probably come next winter!

Rebecca...sock surfing is going to be a ton of fun for me! Tyson can't cause he's a clumsy oaf and he'd end up hurting himself, lol.

Laurie...here's a picture of the guest bedroom. It's where Ty and I will be staying while we fix up the master bathroom/bedroom. Next year it might be the guest bedroom though, lol. Also, backyard pics!

Sandy...I'm probably about 3hrs to 4hrs from Palmdale...I'm much farther north, lol!

Peggy...WHY would I put you in your own room??? How can we be a couple if we're staying in separate bedrooms. You're just using me so you have young arm candy! I see how it is!:cry3:

Here's the photo album with all the pics of the house in it if anyone wants to look! :D

Where in SoCal are you? I'm in Valencia :))

Congrats on the house! I just closed escrow on January 15th on mine. Couldn't be happier!!!! Have fun fixing and decorating!!

Yes that room will work for Ash and I! Just make sure there is plenty of room in the kitchen for dumpling making!

We can have a wonderful party in the backyard! Watermelon margaritas and I'll make my world (okay just Racine and only in my family) famous fajitas!
