My vet is in Acton, MA and he sees chinchillas, and is very reasonably priced as well. His name is Dr. Sager, of Sager Animal Hospital. He does emergency calls.
I called there and they said they don't see chinchillas...sigh.
Also their website, (which says they treat chins) has this info:
DIETS - We recommend that guinea pigs and chinchillas are fed 1/8 cup of maintenance pellet, unlimited timothy or mixed grass hay, and a small amount of dark green, leafy vegetables (NO SPINACH) each day.
Tufts Grafton no longer has anyone that can treat chinchillas.
Angell Memorial was the worst experience I've ever had and I will never return (claim to have exotic vet but do not).
I have no car so I can't get to RI easily, but I did call them and they were very nice. It'd take me 3 hours on public transportation, good to know.
I'll be going to the Odd Pet Vet on Saturday, and I really hope it goes well. As of yet I don't have an emergency vet that I can call. You would think there would be more options in the Boston area?
