Not sure what topic to put this under but let's try it here!

Has anyone that uses Blue Cloud dust noticed an inconsistency in the quality of the dust over the past year?

In the exact same shipment I have had bags that are the quality that drew me to Blue Cloud in the first place, fine grained, soft and does an excellant job at getting a coat at its best. I have also had bags that look and feel like rough sand , very gritty and larger particles and they do not so a good job of making the chins look their best. I cannot figure out any rhyme or reason to it and am wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

It is extremely frustrating to pay that price and then when getting chins ready to show - to find out that all you have are cruddy bags of expensive dust!!!

My first bag of blue cloud had this problem. I will never use cloud over sparkle now.

Its unfortunate that sparkle cannot be used for show chins. Not sure what I would do in your position.:hmm:

Before I started buying from Nan, I would get it at the local mom and pop pet store. During that time, I had some dust that would stick to the chinchillas. It was really weird. The problem disappeared and I never found out what the cause was.

I use Blue Sparkle on show chins all the time. Some of mine never see Blue Cloud.

When it gets grainy like that, it's because it's gotten moisture in it. If it's properly stored, that won't usually happen, but if it is in a really humid area I've had it happen in several bags. Not much you can do when it comes to you that way though.

If BC keeps going up, I may do like JAGS and just use sparkle. I used to get BC for $9.00 a bag, now it's like $23 or $24.00 and that's just ridiculous.

I had a batch of BC that was very gritty. I told Norm and he said to bring the bags back. For me this isn't a big deal because I live close to the mine and can easily return them.

Really? I didn't know it was alright to use on show chins? I was always told it was 'sparkly' and isn't ideal... Hmm I learn some thing new every day :)
