My boy is going to be on antibiotics for another week and the struggle to get him to take them has greatly affected his fur. After I give him the meds, I try and wipe his chin & face area with a wet paper towel and he has been getting extra dust baths during this time but the area is still kinda stiff.
I really need to get it clean and soft after he is off the antibiotics so I can monitor if there is any drool as he is on the antibiotics for a mouth infection.
And if he is still drooling then we are going to get x-rays to check his teeth.
Any suggestions? Can I use anything besides water? Thanks.

use warm water on a face cloth and wash each time - then use a comb to comb thu the fur once a day - He is not going to like it but if you are as gentle as you can it definitely helps

Thanks. Just water, tho? Can't use anything else? It's so sticky. I have been using cool water, so maybe the warm water will be better.
Regular comb?
He is a sweetie and lets me hold him & pet him. He does hate taking the meds, but I am sure i can get a comb gently thru the fur.

A coarse grooming comb (#4) would probably work best, but if you can't get your hands on one, I believe a flea comb for cats/dogs would work.
