Hi all,
I have a chinchilla who’s just over a year old. He’s usually incredibly friendly, jumps out of his cage and climbs all over you. But the past couple of days he’s been acting strange. He seems a bit scared of me and isn’t as readily coming over to me. He also seems to be spending more time just sat doing nothing. But then he is still destroying his wooden toys when I’m not around.
He is drinking, pooping and eating normally. I have felt around his body and nothing is bothering him.
The day he seemed to start acting weird, I added a hammock to his cage. He was using it and exploring but he didn’t look confident using it, so I removed it and decided to try the next day when I could watch him again but he started acting like this so I didn’t put it back in.
Could something to do with the hammock have spooked him maybe?
Should I be concerned? I feel like he has no symptoms apart just acting a bit unlike himself. He’s eating etc.
Thanks for any advice in advance!
