Bedding Necessary?

I just updated my chins cage from a 2x2 cage to a XXL modified dog kennel and I don't have fleece liners for it yet. I was wondering if I could just not use them at all? they're such a hassle to clean and vacuum. She uses her litter box with no problem so can I just have a bare bottomed (wood) cage with a litter-box full of K.D pine shavings?

yes, its would be open to her chewing on the wood though. =P
