Wally has been what I suppose is barking according to some videos i watched. Its always right around the same time while I'm sleeping and the house is quiet. He does it twice in a row then stops. Hes only done it two days now. Should I be worried?

As long as your chin is fine when you check him I don't think you have to worry. My girl barks while napping. First few times it scared me as it sounded like she was in distress. When I'd get in her room she just looked at me like she wondered why I was bothering her. Just chin dreams!

Mine will do this every once in a while too. Its perfectly normal!! They just talk sometimes. Its a natural thing for them.

Chinchillas are much more vocal than I expected. Edgar likes to walk around his cage talking to himself and once in a while they talk to each other. Barking is a warning call so when my boys do it I just reassure them. We also leave a tv on all night for them for ambient noise so they don't startle if the cat's knock something over in the night.

Both of my boys bark in their sleep, it's perfectly normal. Definitely took me a while to shake off the panic it induced lol

Sometimes they just bark. Who knows what they hear or think. A couple nights ago Aika would not stop. She barked for like 3 hours at around 5 am. When I got up and checked her later her food and water had gone down the usual amount and she was perched happily in her usual spot.

Just wait until they do a death squeal in the middle of the night! Ugh, there is one of my boys that thinks it's funny to have us fly out of bed, to see who is caught and/or dying somewhere, to find them all staring at us like "Why'd you turn the light on?"

For barking, we get someone doing it every night just about. Usually we just ignore them, or wake them up if we're still up.

I know this is super old, but I find that classical music calms my girls down when they are making that noise a lot. I usually play Vivaldi's four seasons and they won't cry again. This is of course after I make sure they are not crying for a reason other than possibly just being scared.
