As some of you know I have malo in my herd from the father side which was my 1st string of show animals. I already put two of his daughters down this year one just last week. He has 4 daughters left from 3 different moms. I took in two of them to the vet since one of them the left eye was watery. They took x-rays again and no change since Jan 2010. He asked if I have eye drop medicine and to use it. The eye medicine does have steroids in it but I know a lot of people are against steroids. I was glad the x-rays came back good.

That is great news, Nan! What is the eye medicine? I would just use plain old gentamycin to get the eye better. If you need some give me a call and I can get you some from the vet office I worked at which is right around the corner from you. The steroids can cause death in chinchillas so they are a bad idea all around. I'm so glad she doesn't have malo though!
