Awaiting my chinchilla

So I'm going next Saturday to get my giant cage, for the chinchilla I have yet to adopt. I'm still hoping that a particular one is available, but he may not be by the time I'm able to bring him home.

I've already done all the research I could possibly do, I've made a ton of accessories and ordered a ton of the web. I'm now stuck waiting for the day I can bring one home.

I cant imagine waiting a whole WEEK! When I heard the pet store was getting in hedgies in a few hours..before I got my first hedgekid Aero.. I couldnt control myself and I was there just shortly after they came in!

That is awesome that you have done a lot of research already! I just cant hear that enough these days! Keep on researching! I learn something new everyday here!

OH YEA! AND DONT forget to post pictures when you do finally get your bundle of joy next week!

Oh I can't wait to post pictures! I wish I was waiting a week, I have to wait THREE (!!!), :[ I get the cage in a week though. It's gigantic! Hedgies are unfortunately illegal here v_v almost everything thing is in CA. And I'm on here everyday browsing through the forums looking for anything new :]

Oh, the wait would be torture, especially when you are ready, for the most part, with all his or her supplies. At least you'll have plenty of time to get the cage just right for your new chin. Good luck with the wait! Can't wait to meet your new little boy or girl!

It is torture! I've watched some youtube videos of them, and I just keep getting more and more excited. I've looked up all sorts of cage arrangements and accessories, the best foods, cute chin safe toys, all sorts of things. My boyfriend doesn't understand he thinks I've gone overboard, I just want to be prepared!

Can you not put money down on the chin you want and bring it home in three weeks? Sort of put it on hold?

One chin I can, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to make the drive twice ((long ways a way and I'm going to get the cage next Saturday)) and I don't have the extra $$$ on me right this second ((just spent it on cage/food/toys/ect)). I'd love to make a deposit and secure him, but right now its not possible, but maybe next paycheck. The initial expenses have my spending money all gone for the week :/

It is torturous! It wasn't that long ago for me...just busy yourself getting ready and keep yourself busy and it might fly!

You should definitely come to the chinchilla show in Modesto whether you have your chin already or not. It's a fun experience and one of the only times you'll get to see a ton of gorgeous, different colored chins in one room. You'll also find a lot of chinchillas for sale there as well. Who knows...you may fall in love with a different color when you see them in person

The show sounds like a great experience but Modesto is kind of far :/ I'm not a car person lol

awww come on its less than 2 hrs from you. I drive an hour and a half to go to classes each day, 2 hrs would be nothing. You can so do 2 hrs for a show because its well worth it and you will learn so much about the quality of chinchillas. It's an exciting experience and I wish I had more in my area. I wish shows were closer to me in general, but don't we all? I drove 4 hrs to my first, will be driving 6.5 to the next, and then 8 to the next. Heck there's people here who drive 15-20 hrs for shows. I'd love to, but considering I have to do the driving all by myself, I just can't sit in a car that long due to issues with spinal stenosis and bulging discs and I can't deal with sleeping in motels..

Some people are dedicated, 15-20 hours?!?!?! I couldn't survive. I absolutely cannot stand driving long distances. When is the show exactly?
