We can argue this back and forth forever and the only thing it's going to do, again, is result in long-winded posts, beating a dead horse, saying the same thing over and over again trying ram the same point home. Again, we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Some of us think they put themselves in this position because they are attention whores, others think they are completely selfless, giving, and their motives should never be questioned, just as long as they give money.

I can get behind Susan's idea though. I can think of lots I could do with $7,000,000..........

Yeah...share the wealth! :D

If I had a ton of money, I would be selfless, yo. I'd be crazy with the charity and giving people money. Think about what you can do when you have nothing at all to worry about financially and you are set for life no matter what. I don't know if that would be a selfless thing to give people money.

Someday I am going to hit the Powerball...so you all had better be nice to me! (Sometimes I think I am funnier than I really am...)

I'm going to win the PB too. John and I will just randomly be like... what are you going to do with your half. Maybe I'm selfish, but donating any of it is usually not in my list of stuff to do with 40M.... I'm building a house in New Zealand with a 2 level sub basement chin house with an awesome huge elevator, and Ima get me some sheep, and some of those really well trained herding dogs to herd them... horses, hot tub...

I'm building a log mansion with a 10,000 square foot basement. LOL Then I am going to buy about three dozen Corvettes of all different years. :D Before that I am sure that I will buy everyone I know a new car. :D The only donating I will do is probably to help the local humane society out by buying all the land around them and building new facilities. Other than that...I can't imagine wanting to donate anything right away.

Brangelina need to give me money! :)

With Forty Mill? Let's see: I owe Sally Mae/the Gubbernment $30,000 for student loans. I still have about $300 in hospital bills to get out from under, then another $800 for dental work that I've gone without for quite a while. Then, I need to think about a vehicle; one of those little hybrid Tacoma pick ups would be great, so let's go all out and say $35,000 for that (bc if I get a new car, I want custom paint, On Star, CD player, the works). Still enough to get my parents a house that isn't going to fall down around their ears, so we'll say $250,000 for the area they want, + a 4 seater hot tub since Daddy's got a bad knee and shoulder and the warm water will do him good.

Shoot, that's only $400,000 spent and I haven't even decided whether the first rescue that gets money will be ForCHINate Chins or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. :) It's a little startling how much fun can be had-- and how much good can be done-- when the bills are off your back.

How about eating at home and not eating out and donating the money you'd save doing that to charity?

I think I've read more than a couple times that Angelina can't cook.. So I guess eating out must be their solution to that problem. I love cereal, but not enough to have it for EVERY meal. But I agree on all counts with the OP.

Why pay off your debt? With $40mil you dont need credit. You can pay cash for everything. Besides.. You will be paying enough in taxes to the government.. the 30,000 wont touch the amount you pay to them..
