My God! I have never seen a hedgehog who annoints as much as Xander does. Ronnie would only annoint with my old corduroy jacket, and Phoebe almost never annoints. Xander on the other hand, annoints over everything. During playtime tonight, he annointed over his meds, my sleeve, my armpit, my pillowcase, his fleecy hat, my sock, and some random unknown source in the air. He tried to climb down the front of my shirt and would have annointed there too, I'm sure! His quills are disgusting... I'm going to have to bathe him soon. It's very funny, but is he going to annoint over everything forever? Should I buy stock in Benadryl?

He will probably quit doing it after a while. Everything is still so new and interesting to him.

My Snow RIP would annoint constantly whenever I wore black sweat pants. I'd have to stop her because she would just keep doing it and doing it and I figured she'd run out of spit. lol

Do we know why they do this? It is such a funny behaviour and I always wonder!

Cuda is like that! He'll annoint over my watch 8 or 9 times in a row, move onto my jeans, socks and random spots on the floor. Then he'll gravitate back to my leather watch band and annoint a few more times before he continues on his way.

Hahaha Squee has only annoited twice since I adopted him - once over my boots LOVES my boots, and oranges! Haha, I did alot of reading up on hedgies before I got one of course, and from what I gather it's either they like the smell or two they're trying to blend in with there surroundings. Which would make sence, in the wild they would be prey to almost anything so the less they look and smell like food - the better! It is pretty amusing watching them do it though

He's still at it - during cuddle time the other night, he took a liking to the knees of my pyjama pants and annointed like mad for almost an hour. I finally had to put him back in his cage because my knees were soaked and I was getting a terrible rash! He's such a funny little man.
