Annie's Vet Visit

I posted a few days ago that Annie was having issues with her eyes. I was able to get her into the vet's today & I'm very happy to report that she is just fine! To sum it up, she is having really dry skin which the vet thought would be mites, but after knocking her out and taking a skin sample, he found no mites. Her eyes were being bothered by the dry skin on her face.
I knew that she had dry skin for while and had been bathing her with oatmeal soap, putting olive oil on her skin, and flax seed oil in her food. The vet said that all of that was good, but he gave me some different oil to put on her food and suggested that I change her food to something else, because the dry skin could be caused by what she is eating.
Right now she is on Blue Buffalo. What brand would you suggest that I could get at Petsmart (easiest & usually cheapest place for me to go to)?

So again, I'm happy that all is well with my little Annie!

I'm glad she's okay!
The same situation happened to Bilbo (he was on this crapfood at the time), but now I use Natural Balance and I think it's seemed to clear up the dry skin. I'm pretty sure it's at Petsmart, or maybe Petco. Good luck!

Limited Ingredient Balance may be a good one to have in your mix (it helps with allergies which may be an underlaying factor of the dry skin).

+1 for the Limited Ingredient Natural Balance. I feed that kibble to my little girl, Kismet, who has an insanely sensitive tummy. Everything else causes an on-slaught of nasty, green poop. The Limited Ingredient has worked wonders for her, and seems to be doing a bit for her skin. She's not nearly as flaky, but that could also be due to the jojoba oil.

Do you mix the Limited Ingredient Natural Balance with something else, or feed only that? If you do mix it, what do you mix it with? I'm thinking I might need to change foods, too.

Kismet is fed the Limited Ingredient food primarily, but I supplement her with blander foods, like oatmeal and rice, plus chicken, applesauce and some green veggies - she loves peas and green beans.
