My hubby stopped at the store on the way home from work. He came home with bread, milk, cereal...the normal stuff. I was putting everything away and I saw the cereal. Unfrosted mini wheats.....HMMMMM. I brought it into the living room and showed him the box and he just smiled and did a little girl giggle.

So what has your significant other, who claims to have no love for the rodents in their life, done for your chinnies lately?

Phil is being nice and is out getting canned pumpkin for Smudgie right now :)) He seemed so concerned when I told him Smudge's situation.

He also was in a different town for a job interview and drove all the way across town to Petsmart to get me some water bottles. Aww. hehe

When my boyfriend and I first started dating, he was very hesitant, but then warmed up, and we bought our first rabbit together. When we moved in together, he was really strict and made up all sorts of rules ect ect ect,
But I know he loves them because he will pet them, coo at them and such.

The last thing he did for the chinchillas was make them some new wood shelves :)
He also took Valentine out for some extra love time.

my fiance' has been helping me almost every night with the boys. i dump the litter pans and old food and he refills the litter, food, hay & nightly treat.
he has always been a little afraid they are going to bite him!! but now he is getting a little better.
he also gave me presents from them at Christmas!

My fiance was very hesitant even getting one chin but when i mentioned picking up BamBam's brother only a few days before we were set to go pick him up, he was dead set on one and said we wouldn't be coming home with 2.

When we went to pick BamBam up, Alicyn gave me BamBam to hold and then gave Domo, his brother, to Caleb to hold. After a few minutes of holding him, i asked 'so are we still only taking one home?' :)

He still acts like he doesn't want really anything to do with the chins but sometimes when i'm 'sleeping' or 'napping' I hear him giving them a shreddie or when I'm at work i'll notice the shreddie box wasn't in the same spot on the shelf as it was when i left in the morning ;).

I don't know why he has to be ashamed of actually liking the chins. Lets just say, we're working on the 5th, and last chin and he doesn't seem to be so against it as he was at first.

My fiance has you all beat...they are his babies, too. They love to sit on his shoulder and he plays with them with me each night and by himself each morning for a few. He cleans their water bottles every few days (although I have to remind him). He doesn't mind spoiling his little princesses (after all...it is mostly his money that has funded them, their vet bills, and ongoing charges!). Actually...they were his idea....we were looking at getting a rat and he said he would rather have a chinchilla as he looked at little Bunny in the chin cage. So there the saga began!

my boyfriend is also incredible with our boys. he was the one who got me our first boy as a surprise for our anniversary when he knew how badly i wanted him. he loves sitting with them, letting them run all over him and he will clean the cage for me and refresh everything.. i have to ASK though ;) my favorite is though that whenever people are looking at pictures on my phone and they're like "oh what are these?" ill say "my chinchillas" and hes always sure to correct me by saying "theyre OURS babe" :)

My boyfriend had seen a chinchilla before, but never really knew what they were or how much care they needed until I told him. He was more of a rabbit person before he met the chins. He knows each of them by name and always talks about their goofy personalities. He even bought my little rescue boy for me as a birthday gift and to keep my from burning down petco (in my dreams, of course)

He now has 4 rats (Thanks to me) which he loves deeply and even get's all up in arms when I giggle at him for being a softie.

He loves small rodents :D

I caught Jeff petting Shelly this weekend when I walked by her room. An hour later I walked by and he was still sitting next to her cage petting her. SUCKER!!!

My husband is constantly rolling his eyes when I gush about the chinnies but every time I'm out of town and he is caring for them for me he has the girls out for playtime when I check in at night...sorry, but if you could not care less about them you would not play with them...gives me a chance to roll my eyes :)).

I swear I'm having anxiety attacks thinking about my business trip to Chicago in two weeks. I don't doubt my bf will take good care of her, it just won't be me. I let her out for two - three hours every night, he thinks one is fine. I have not had to leave town since we brought her home in December.

My husband is awesome. He just built me a lot of shelves, cut pvc tubes for Edgars new FN and helped me lay and cut the fabric for the first liner. We're cutting more tonite. He also feeds Edgar every morning and gives him lots of love despite daily complaints that my chin almost made him late because he was being cute.

I'm in charge of Edgar's cleaning but if you saw how many pets we had you'd understand that he actually does a lot of the work for all of them. I am very lucky to have a husband who love having animals as much as I do.

when rob was in basic training, he'd write me letters and send money for me to buy gizmo something nice.

it was adorable :)

Keith has made toys for the chins, drilled wood for them, helped me build their shelves, and when he comes over, the first thing he does is start handing out treats. I mean FIRST thing, before even giving me a kiss.

When Herby first started having problems with her teeth and was diagnosed with malo..I was not wanting her to suffer, but my husband Shawn said we had to try at least once and shelled out almost 600.00 for her hospital stay and subsequent care..and did it again when she needed a trim. He took the money out of his 'new hunting bow" fund...

My boyfriend is super sweet to gizmo. Always talking to him and petting him through the bars. He wont tell him he loves him though, im still working on that! lol

Doug has put his needs unselfishly aside and bought power tools to make shelves and houses.:hilarious: At least, he says they're to make chin stuff!
