After reading 'Guards Guards' by Terry Prachet I have decided Chinchillas are infact swamp dragons.

Maybe this requires explanation:
In the book swamp dragons are small versions of the real deal that are small and people like to buy them because they look beautiful and can sit on your shoulder. But they have very irritable digestive tracts, feed them the wrong thing and they explode. Shake them just a little they explode. Get them too excited.. explode. Too cold ... bam. Too hot... kaboom! And all the rest.

If you've read the book you should be wetting yourself over it, if you havent't you should read it. It is hilarious!

I always pictured the swamp dragons in the book as rather pathetic-looking, homely caricatures of iguanas, with longer necks and little bat-wings. Never occurred to me to compare them to chinchillas (at least, not before now...).

However, I agree that that book is hilarious and one of Pratchett's best Discworld novels. :)

HAH! My chins are secretly swamp dragons. I should put that on my bedroom door..."Home of the fuzzy swamp dragons"

Wow. I posted this and then forgot about it. But i did remember it just now. I think it still stands, swampy dragon, the lot of them and I adore them.

Well Earol was definetly very homely, small wings and the lot. But the rest were supposed to be very handsome... but such is the imagination.
