Hi all and thanks for taking time to read my post.
I have a 2 year old standard grey that's spry and healthy; however, when he woke up this afternoon he began limping. Prior to his day time snoozing, he showed no signs of pain or limping. And now he won't put any pressure on his front right leg. He lets it hang there. I've seen him flex his little chinchilla fingers, he's walking around, not crying in pain, and has continued eating normally like the little piglet he is. I will note that while he was sleeping this afternoon, he barked in his sleep (which he does occasionally), woke up, fell over on his side, sat back up, and fell back asleep. This didn't seem unnatural.
I live in a rural area and am not close to exotic vets with chinchilla experience. I have a few #s of vets that I am going to contact tomorrow. Is this something that can heal on its own with supervision? Could it be a mild sprain or fracture? Or a dislocated joint? I've included a few links to pictures of his arm: he is keeping it tucked in and close to his body. (Sorry about the quality, they were taken with a phone)

Also, for those of you curious about his cage set up, he lives in the large critter nation brand cage with a few wooden perches and platforms. He is paired up with another male (his mate shows no signs of illness/injury). The temperature is a cool 69 degrees and he eats Oxbow chinchilla food, timothy hay, and treats in the form of wheat biscuits and cranberries.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I absolutely adore my little guy and hate to see him hurt.
