Am I the only one that sees another "Grizzly Man" story?

Maybe I haven't read enough about him, though the pictures are amazing.

That's amazing! I've always been in awe of people with that power! Problem is; one mistake and you're lunch, without a chance!
Will we ever really know what happened to the guy with the Grizzlys? I think they were totally wild, though!
There was another video of a woman in South America, who found a lion cub on the side of the road, almost dead, revived it, raised it, and gave it to a zoo! Their reunion after a couple of years, was a real tear-jerker, as the lion hugged her, through the bars!

Oh, I would love to have that kind of interaction and trust with wild animals. You would have to have total trust of your ability, though, since these animals can sense fear. I am so envious and I hope his efforts to promote awareness are successful. I just hope we don't read someday, about his accidental, and untimely death!

ummm yeah. That's what I was thinking. Sorry, but I don't think that you can ever fully trust a wild animal like that.

The nut job the Grizzy Man guy thought he could and then he and his girlfriend got ripped to pieces by a Grizzly.

I think you can come to understand certain body language and sounds of animals to get an idea of what they are thinking, but I don't think you can ever fully understand them. We aren't the same species. Just like animals can't fully understand humans. You'd just never know, one second they could turn on you.

This man seems to be working off of a similar theory to Cesar Milan's calm-assertive energy, and if it works for him, great; but I wonder if the animals that trust him will be more likely targets for poachers if/when he's not around. They've become acclimated to a human presence, and generally speaking, when humans and wild animals interact, the wild animals are almost always the ones skinned and strung on a fence in the end. I think it would be best to admire from a distance-- and treat as target practice any poacher within the confines of the preserve.

I'd say so with the exception that those big cats have been around people from a young age.

But he's absolutely taking a risk that one of those animals is going to misread him and attack.

And if that's the risk he wants to take and he's not endangering other people as a result... what a great life story!

I don't think those are lions he just went into the african savannah and buddied up with.. lol.

I'd be more afraid of those hyena's than the lions though.. those things are nasty w/ an even worse set of teeth.

Pictures are amazing!!!

Honestly, if he wants to take that risk, that's his choice. Not something I'd do personally, but there's a lot of things I wouldn't do :wink2:

I agree, reminds me of the Grizzlly Man... we'll see how this guy turns out.
Even if they aren't animals that he just went out into the savannah with, they are still wild animals (even if socialized with from a young age) and can still turn or get into a "playful situation gone bad".

Yup, I agree.

Those pictures are very nice though. And I do believe that some people have a special "touch" with animals, that others just don't have.

Lions aren't even close to the same kind of animals as tigers or grizzly bears. Both of those animals are known to attack people and are solitary...they don't understand the meaning of a pride or family or even a pack in the hyena's case. Anyways...lions always remember family. They're intelligent animals and they don't attack mindlessly like some...

Those are amazing...but I agree with what was said before...you can never fully trust a wild animal. He's got serious guts...I will say that.

am i the only one who think this guy is cute as heck??? or as they would say in SA he is a "hot bloke" (spel?)

The lions are in a protected preserve.
