The second one was already removed, but I also flagged the first one. Just keep posting the ads here and I will keep flagging them (hopefully others here will too). I'm up all night at work with nothing better to do. My flagging finger is ready. :p

Also, especially considering you're a minor, I would have your parents call the police.

Thanks so much :D

It wouldn't be so bad if they had chosen different pictures :angel4:

I think i'll just leave the whole thing alone. Verizon first thing tomorrow.

The part that bothers me is I got a call from someone that surrendered a chin to me a few weeks ago worried about me selling her or breeding her. :(

I still have her. She is with another female and it hurts me that they didn't know me well enough..

This is why you need to have your parents call the police. Calling Verizon will only get their number blocked. This won't stop them from posting on CL. They are posting your information, phone #, pictures of you, etc. As a minor this is also dangerous in terms of everyone you don't want to have that info now having it. It's already hurt your breeding program if you got a call about the rescue. If she is concerned, she could pass that concern to others who will then pass it along to more. The fastest something is spread is by word of mouth. Everyone on the internet can see those posts on CL, but even more than that, the people in your area ARE seeing them.

I guess I will explain the situation to my parents in the morning. For now, I will take some pictures and send them to the lady that is concerned.

That all is very creepy, Erin. Tell your parents and maybe call the police. That isn't just being a little upset...that's scary, freaky weird text message stuff. Do they really think you sold a free dog? You'd never do that...I know you wouldn't!

I'm afraid they will find out where I live and do god knows what. I wouldn't sell a free dog, in fact had there been any reason for me to get rid of her, I would've have offered her back to the previous owners in the first place. They keep accusing me of reselling and then telling me to bring the dog back. I don't know what they think.

Since you don't know why the dog passed away,I'd clean your chin room the dog was in just in case.
Tell your parents whats going on.If you were my daughter I would want to know about this so I could handle it.

I agree. You should definitely tell your parents what's going on. Giving your personal information out is totally inappropriate, and your parents will probably want to put a stop to it.

They want the body back. They would like to get a necropsy done, which is fine by me, but I think it's a little sick to dig up a body. Plus, will a necropsy even show anything at this point? It has been almost 30 hours and she has been buried.

Maybe they want to see it for closure, to prove that you didn't sell off the dog. I know if I had given someone a free dog and the next day I was told it died, I'd want proof, but that's just me. The body has already began to decompose at this point, I'm not sure what a vet could do.

I think a body needs to be refrigerated immediately for a necropsy. Personally, I would tell these people to buzz off. They are being unreasonable, imo.

I agree, but I just want this to end peacefully. The bad part is that last night, my power steering fluid hose started leaking and I don't know if it's safe to drive the car. I understand that they power steering may go out, but other than that does anyone know if it's flammable etc?

i dont know about your power steering but harassing & posting picture of a minor is illegal. at this point i would do a few things: call the police, call your vet to see if the body is still viable for a necropsy, and discuss this whole issue with your parents.

sorry this has happened to you. it is so sad.

You need your parents to know what is going on and you need a lawyer or need to seek out your local police for help.

You also should be printing out every single ad or anything they write up. And you should be keeping all the messages they leave on your voicemail/answering machine, etc....

If you don't, and this snowballs into something much bigger, you have no proof on your side of the libel (which is what the ads are) or slander or the harassment. All you have is your words and that doesn't do much.

You shouldn't be having any contact with them at this point at all, but should be doing it through a lawyer. Have the lawyer send them the cease and desist letter. Honestly, if you were my child, that is exactly what I would be doing.

It's too bad you didn't get a necropsy because that would fix any lies they might say about the dog or you.

They can accuse all they want. Once the dog left their hands, too bad, so sad. If you wanted to resell a free dog, that's your business. Once the dog was in your hands, it was yours. They need a few legalities thrown at them and they'll go away. They are bullying you because they can, and by you not telling your parents or the police, you are letting them.

Did your parents know you were getting the dog?

Peggy just made me think of something. Did these people know that you were 16? You can't have a legal contract with a 16 year old unless the parents are there. Were your parents there with you? And, if they were, how come these people aren't trying to talk to your parents?

There's something wrong with these people. As much as you want to "make nice" with them, it's not something that they will allow to happen.

My advice is this: come to terms that those people are nutters. They have that particular kind of craziness which fosters more craziness. And you don't need to let yourself get swept up in their crazy.

Think about it for a minute: they would have you go in your backyard, dig up a decomposing dog, stick it in your car, and bring it to them. And then what? Thank you kindly and it would all be over? No. It would just fuel another round of craziness. Now, they'd be pictures of you with the decomposing dog showing up across the internet... they'd have that *proof* with which that could carry forward.

This is a bad situation. And I am very sorry you are in it. It's not your fault that you ended up getting tangled in a web of crazy.

The best way to deal with this is to stop. As hard as it is, it needs to stop.

They are crazy and they do not have the ability to stop. So you have to be the adult here. All 16 years of you needs to be the adult and make it stop. You stop it by not answering your phone with they call. You stop it by blocking their number. You stop it by ignoring their attempts at trying to get a rise out of you of Craigslist.

If those methods fail, you stop it by bringing in people with even more power than either you or them. You get the law involved; you can get a lawyer. You document what they have done. You call the police.

Susan - Some states do allow that a minor can enter into a contract legally. Not very many of them, but some do; however, there is no state that will allow adults to harass and stalk a minor child.

I don't know about the power steering fluid. I'd think it would be fine. I lost my power steering for a couple days about 5 years ago. I can't recall if it was a leak or I just forgot to fill it up or what but it's doable to drive. Slow turns are the hardest.

Hope your parents can help with the dog people. In one of the ads you posted they had a picture of the puppy and it looked kind of terrified. Ears down, head a little lowered and eyes looking up.

Don't go or drive anywhere near these people. They're already endangering you with those picture and contact information posts. Use the car as an excuse if you have to long enough to get your parents and the police involved. If there's a chance they can figure out what school you go to, tell the administration there too. You're being stalked and harassed, which is illegal, but you have to protect yourself until the adult authorities can help you.

Get pictures of the room the dog was in, the place she's buried, the crate you brought her home in, and if you can, statements from the vet saying when you called and what symptoms she was showing: basically proof of your side of the story. I don't know if it'll help, but at least with that information you've got the basis of a defense if charges are pressed either way.
