hey all,

figured a few more shots of Gery were in order. she's just too cute to not get some photos!

for those of you who don't know who Gery is, she's the lovable lil furball i'm babysitting this week. and i'm Sherry, her human trampoline/ledge/shelf/chew toy. found this forum so i could take the best care of her during her 'vacation' and now i don't want to give her back! lol.

Hi Sherry! Cute pics!! Gery is just adorable! I really admire you for doing your research and wanting to give Gery the best care possible!!! I think you've been bitten by the bug that has infected all of us... lol. Do you think you'll be getting a chinny of your own soon?

i would LOVE to have my own loveable furball! but right now finances are not allowing me to get one, plus cage (i will not accept anything less than a FN for my chin baby!).

i would be ecstatic if Gery could just stay here indefinitely! but i have a hunch her owners want her back at the end of the week

my one concern is that if i were to get a chin of my own, it wouldn't have the same personality as Gery, and that is what i have come to love most about her. i'm worried i'd end up with one that doesn't like cuddles or much human contact, and it just wouldn't be the same! maybe i should just get a new chin for Gery's owners and do a bait n switch........ kidding! lol.

Aw Gery is adorable! What a cute name. And yes you're right, every chinchilla has a different personality, but that doesn't mean you won't love your chin as much as you love him, I promise. There are just some that have "easier" personalities while others will bark/bite at you initially, but eventually your chin will love you back because you are their owner and they depend on you. My first chin took over a year to warm up to me; it took a lot of patience but he has THE BEST personality of any of my chins. So don't let that be too much of a concern. Also you could check out craigslist religiously and I bet you could find someone giving away either a large cage or even a chin+cage. I only purchased one of my 5chins, and 1 of my 4 cages. Just a thought!

oh trust me, i've been scouring my local online classifieds just about hourly! lol. just hope that when i do get my own, they don't take more than the 2 hours that Gery took to befriend me that was the highlight of my week!

Gery is adorable and love her as long as you can, you're doing a great job! Of my 7 boys, I only have 1 right now that will let me cuddle him for a long time. There are a few other boys that love the scritches but my Pepper just adores them and let's me give him pretty much a full body massage, LOL!
