Here's little Charlie... He's doing really well. Still on antibiotic for the next few days, but the juice and papaya have been suspended since everything is already back to normal.

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

I probably shouldn't say tube, but passage instead. The passage gets narrow before it opens up. That's where the vet suspects where the blockage was. I'm not sure what is the reason behind carrot juice. I'm going to have to ask him.

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

Charlie is eating his hay and some of his pellets. I'm happy to report that he is poo-ing just like a healthy normal chin, lots of poo. Poo size is also normal. As I mentioned in my earlier post, I took Charlie to see another vet last Saturday. The vet said most likely Charlie's obstruction...

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

Thanks, Tanya. I will get some of that. I am almost running out of pain killer (buprenex). I only have 3 more injection left which only good for the next 24 hours. Do you think I should use the same pain killer once this one gone, or can he take oral pain killer by now?

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

YSY, thank you so much for the suggestions. I really do appreciate anyone's suggestions and advice. You know exactly how I feel. Hopeless, scared, sad, tired, etc. I found maybe 2 poo stuck in his rectum and I pull it out. The poo also stuck together blocking the rectum. I'm going to get the...

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

I just finished giving Charlie his pain medicine & water at mid-night. He's in a lot of pain. Everytime I pet him on his back, he'll squeek, and all he wants to do is just stay close to my arm and sleep. I think his belly is bigger than yesterday. This is so hard. I feel I'm losing the battle.

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

It's clear. Is that a good hydration sign? I noticed a couple minutes ago, he's stretching his belly a couple of times. I got one small size poo this afternoon, and the color is light brown. Not sure if that means anything since it's only 1 and small I'm getting really worried that no poo has...

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

Thank you Kalandra & Dawn. Those are excellent feedback on the medication. The doctor said as long as I give him water, he doesn't need the sub-q, but she will give it to me if I ask her to. Should I? Can you tell me what is the difference between drinking water vs the sub-q? No wonder he's been...

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

It's about 3AM, I woke up to give Charlie some water. He drank about 9ml of water, then he pee. I warm up his warmer. He actually pick up his hay & eat a tiny bit of it, he played with his wheel for a few second, and groom himself. I'm glad to see he's still full of live. No poo yet, and his...

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

Thank you so much to everyone for your thoughts and advice. Charlie is home with me now. When I picked him up this afternoon, the doctor at the hospital still thinks that surgery is the only option, but I told them since the risk is very high, I cannot justify it. The doctor understood. So I...

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

I am picking him up right now. I will ask for the simethicone. I'm not letting him going through surgery with that extremely high risk. I'm going to do what I can here at home. I've ordered the essential for life syringe feed for him. In the mean time I will get the critical care feed from the...

Charlie has to go to Critical Care Unit :(

One question for Dawn, if the ultrasound shows the item is anchored to the intestinal wall, is that mean surgery is the only option? There's no way for the object to be passed by itself? I can't think of anything that he ate or chew that could cause this since his cage is all chew proof (no...
