Yeah, he's up but not too active yet, just eating !

He's very awake and active today (and its only around 6PM, woke up around 4PM usually wakes up a couple of hours later) and his awake time for today has only been poking the cage, nothing else ! If I give him an apple stick to chew on he'll be distracted for maybe a minute, then back to poking...

Will try not to give him any attention when he's poking the cage , see how that goes - but it is hard to resist :wacko:

Another little update in case anyone is interested. New diet still going fine, all good there. His nose is the same - it gets better in between but I think it is just a case of him constantly trying to get out of his cage by poking his nose through which is causing it to get sore / reddish. Any...

Is it OK to give chins boiled water (after cooled down of course?) just wondering as here in Malaysia we always boil water before drinking - is this OK to give to chinchilla?

No idea what they were feeding him - but saw another chin at the same shop the other day and the water bottle he had was nearly empty and water looked yellow-ish , guess it hadn't been changed for a while considering how little chins drink. Also only had pellets available for them and no hay...

Will do. I'm sure can find some birds to feed it to :D Is his poop being bigger in size a good thing? Its a little softer than before, I'm guessing that's because he's switched onto new food.

Just a little update here in case anyone is interested. Giving him a mixure of Oxbow pellets and the old ones - he doesn't touch them anymore and only eats the Oxbow ones, so he definitely likes them more. Also his poop has increased in size compared to the size they were before :)

Just got back from the pet shop and picked up a 2kg bag of Oxbow pellets (Chinchilla Deluxe) - Quite expensive here at $20 USD, but I guess the bag should last a while :)
