    C&C cage?

The largest wire spacing I would use for a chin would be 1"x1" holes, nothing larger. They're nice looking, but not for chins.

    Bath

No Kaytee anything. Use Blue Cloud or the Blue Sparkle stuff.

    Chin hates his cage?

6 hours is a lot of time for him to have free range of the house. He's acting that way since you're not allowing him freedom and his behavior is completely normal. He's trying to see if he can get a reaction from you, that would let him be out again. No animal wants to be caged, so its...

    Kaytee Gourmet Variety Diet

Toss it and get something like Oxbow or Mazuri as the others have said. I can't say enough bad things about anything made by Kaytee.

Fed chinchilla pasta piece that was too large

Take him to the vet. It could be completely coincidental that you gave him pasta and it could be something else altogether. No more pasta in the future...

Kaytee glass water bottle from Petsmart

I hate Kaytee products. I have been buying Lixit brand without any problems.

    Do rose hips go bad?

I would assume as long as you keep them dry, they'd be ok. They might get stale, but then again I haven't tried biting down on one…LOL.

My chin has a bald patch above nose, what's this?

I just do a few generous squirts it won't hurt your chin and it does help clear it up within a couple weeks. The fur will grow back eventually. Ringworm occurs naturally in the environment and sometimes animals and people just become susceptible to it. There's nothing to be worried about. If...

    Runt question

Mom still will feed the kit if you are supplementing. As greychins has said, it is probably fighting, and they can injure each other. If that's happening, you might want to increase the number of times you feed him.

    Runt question

You can supplement if you feel its necessary. It is good that he's gaining weight though. The canned goats milk is fine and yes, you can put baby rice or oatmeal cereal in it to thicken it a bit.

Hello. New owner with some questions.

Just keep dusting him or pick the poops off of him. You'll probably take some fur out, but it shouldn't be a problem. As for getting him more used to you, I have found just sitting at the front of the cage, with the door open, works a lot. You can leave your hand/arm in, and they tend to check...

    Hair Loss on the tail

Its probably a fur slip, but there is that possibility of fungus like everyone said. Are you able to post a photo?

Cheerios- To give or not to give

I give plain shredded wheat myself. As long as you don't give your chin a ton of Cheerios, you should be ok, but I find shredded wheat to be more safe.

    Grrrr.... pulling up fleece liners???

You can try magnets, but your chin sounds pretty determined. Maybe try getting a wall mounted food dish to avoid spillage. I have a feeling no matter what you try to do to stop them getting under the fleece, they'll just keep trying.

    Why give few treats?

If you want to supplement the diet for weight gain, treats isn't the way to do it. You'll have to get some kind of grain supplement, maybe alfalfa, or other herbal supplement to do it. I haven't had to do this myself, but I'm sure someone else could chime in with some good info.

What hay brand do you use?

It could be the brand or just how fresh it is. I feed Kleenmama hay and all of my chins love it. I'm not sure how it would be shipping to you though, since they're in the US.

is it fungus? or fur biting ? how do I help her?

I wouldn't use any Kaytee products, especially hay. Try to get the Oxbow brand hay if you're getting it from a pet store.

Making chew toys ? Im lost

As Pikaia said, you create a loop with the wire that's larger than the opening of your toy part. Some people use very small key rings at each end too, but I think its a waste of materials depending on the situation.

    Setting up for a Chin

I agree with Susan. I shop at feed stores myself over pet stores, but if that's all you have around you, then that may be your only choice. There are some good online resources too if you can wait for shipping and want to pay the shipping costs.
