    Chintro update: need advice

I would consider that aggression, but it's definitely not unheard of for intros. Just keep an close eye on them, and be ready to break up a fight if things get worse. If the aggression stays unchanged or worsens after time, you may have to reconsider pairing the chins. But like I said, I...

greasy hair on my little girl

I would let her dust frequently at first, maybe once a day for the first few days, and then cut back to make sure her skin doesn't get dried out. You may want to invest in a comb as well, if you don't already have one, as I would imagine she has some mats if she has been bathing in sand.

    Weight?

Her weight sounds fine. Just make sure she's eating regularly etc. When I weigh my chins (once/month) I set a flower pot on the scale and tare it. Then I place the chin in the pot. The chins don't get freaked out because they can rest their paws on the side of the pot, and they're able to...

    Chintro update: need advice

I think it would be OK to try a different method as long as you take things slowly. I would however continue with the playtimes in the neutral area. I wouldn't expect to see extreme changes in interaction in only two weeks. Try to end things positively, and as always, watch closely for signs...

    The Ferret Nation Club

That isn't my cage, but you can get the metal pans from bassequipment.com, and you can either buy or make the fleece liners. I believe Kara made her own, though. The chins are supposed to pee on the fleece. The liners are used instead of bedding, and you wash/change them out every few days.

    fleece vs nylon

Neither fabric would be "safe" for a chin to ingest, however, fleece is probably less likely to be ingested. It doesn't come apart as easily as other fabrics, so usually the most a chin will do is test nibble it at first, and then leave it alone. Obviously, if a chin is continually eating the...

    Princess Solange

Aww, she's so pretty! I love her cute little nose!
  19. Ashley

If you had to choose--wide or tall?

I prefer tall as well. My chins all spend the majority of their time at the top of their cages. As long as you can prevent falls with ledges, hammocks etc., I would go for height over width.
