I also have some allergies. When I give my chins their dustbaths the dust is in a glass ice tea decanter. The opening is large enough for all chins and I cut out a round of fleece and cut an X in the middle big enough to let chins in and out without constriction. I use rubberbands to keep them...

Typically it is obvious that wood has been treated. It is either some unnatural red, yellow, or green color and typically it is marked treated...sometimes it even has mechanical cuts in it to let the chemicals penetrate further. Poplar is used as a less expensive alternative to many hardwoods...

Also, make sure you jiggle the metal tip to get a drop of water on the tip. I find this works for mine.

I too have that problem. The galvanized coating does not last long when peed on. I would be interested to see how the stainless steel ones fare.

Not sure if they have a webpage now that lists pans specific for your cage, but if you don't see it for your exact model, I would call them direct. If I am correct, the CA location does the custom fabrication.

Agree with the above. From my experience, tail fur takes over a year to regrow completely.

There's no rule to answer that. You will know with how her behavior changes with your new schedule. When you're home you can interact with her as much as you can. Not much more you can do about the time you have available.

Either way. In my herd, I have wheel and no wheel cages. Ideally with a wheel. With high numbers of chins, no larger breeder can let all their chins out. I do so only with my growers I will probably sell as pets so they are more accustomed to interactions with humans. If your chins are pets...

I like the ones Sumiko is talking about but I get annoyed at what I call the "slow drip"(sounds like am STI), and excessive water in the pan, especially with wall surfing hyper chins ;) I personally use the Edstrom Water Buddy type...the copies work fine....Lixit Quick Fill plastic bottles. But...

Depends on the type of wheel. I personally prefer to keep Chin Spin drum-type wheels about 10cm off the floor. I have some Flying Saucers that are about 20cm off the floor. Accommodate for "special" chins who may be either extra nutty and scare easily or who may not be the most coordinated as...

One level of a Ferret Nation is fine for 3-4 chins, assuming they get along and you provide a lot of ledges and tubes/wood boxes for each of them to call their own. I would not recommend tubes on top of tubes as they tend to fight over the top ones, so space them out or mix in some wood boxes.
