The fleece tube is just an oatmeal container covered in fleece. it is on the floor of the cage and always has been. I also removed shelves, put her in a shorter cage ect. alright, I won't give her the Tums. Thank you (:

I have read up but I didn't want to 'torture' her by putting her in a smaller cage with no shelves if she's just a cranky fat chinchilla (LOL). she's already giving me the stink eye. I'll just wait and see what happens.

As some of you have probably read, I rescued 5 chinchillas. I'm a first time rescuer and I have a question. I'm thinking one of the girls may be pregnant. She is very cranky, much heavier than the other 4 (just picking her up, not by scale.), looks much bigger than the others, lays on her side...

Oh no. My animals (dogs, chinchillas, ect.) Always go with me if I'm going to be gone for more than 24 hours.

They are doing really well. It turns out that all the symptoms they were having was just from the bad food, which isn't suprising. They have been getting better with human contact although one of the girls attacks a hand anywhere near the cage. I have a feeling she was abused. I am thinking of...

I wouldn't leave any animals that long either but she doesn't seem to understand the consequenses of leaving animals at home by themselves. I was just making a comparison that they are harder to care for than most animals.

How old are you and what grade are you in? it seems like letting anybody younger than 12/13 take care of an animal, even a class pet is just wrong. I would recommend your parents calling your teacher and letting her find a better care taker. I'm not attacking you, I just feel you are not...
