How old are they? Are they breeding quality? Have you done your research on chinchillas and pregnancy? There's a lot to take into consideration before putting two chins together. If you have done all that then best of luck to you!
I think it may have to do with my canon camera! But yes, I plan on continuing to photograph this little guy. I'm excited to see how big he'll get, but at the same time I also wanna cherish how small and adorable he is right now.
I haven't tried the whisker trimming yet. And the small crate part was good to know. The one I have has way too much space for them. If I trim their whiskers would they grow back?
When I first got the second girl I was unaware of the steps and she had gotten into the others cage. There was a bit of a tussle and then they were separated. For several weeks I had them side by side and would switch their cages every few days to try and get used to each others scent. After...
Okay so since I got my two girl chinchillas they have had a strong dislike for each other. I tried multiple methods of bonding them. During their open playtime in my contained area there would be fur pulling and peeing. I really would love to consolidate cages if I could. I have heard of the car...
So I posted about the little ebony I was supposed to be picking up today and he is even more beautiful in person. I honestly didn't expect him to be super hand tame. That was just a bonus. I'm already in love with the little guy and the breeder was super cool to me. Plus he is incredibly...
No I haven't picked a name as of yet! It's funny how I had all these ideas and now when I look at him I draw a blank. I am gonna wait til I get him and see if his personality gives me any ideas :)

I forgot to compliment you on your amazing Starship Enterprise picture. I freaking loved the fact that you named your chins Scotty and Kirk!
He should be 11 weeks now! When I initially contacted her she told me he was 9 weeks. She did say that they were older photos so I imagine he looks a little bigger than that in person :)
I had been wanting an ebony for awhile and I stumbled upon a nice breeder fairly close to me. The little boy on the left will be coming home with me on Thursday morning. I'm so excited! Got a cage all ready and everything!
So I ended up taking fleece and just lining over the part where they chew. I used vtelcro strips underneath to hold it in place and to keep them from taking too much notice to it. So far so good. However if they start looking for the velcro then I may have to remove it. For the time being I have...
I'm glad to hear that you guys have experienced the same or a similar thing. It really is nice seeing a change in her personality. My family actually enjoys sitting with her during playtime now! :)
Okay so I posted a thread last week asking about the permission of borrowing pictures and what not. Right now I am working on a "mock" informational chinchilla website for my class final. It'll be online briefly and then be down after my term ends. Unless it turns out super good. Then I may...
I have two chinchillas, Mika and Kiki. Kiki has always been aggressive in her actions and has never been too fond of being pet. However through time and patience she will begrudgingly accept head scratches now.
The other day she nipped me rather harshly when I was wearing a jacket. I don't...
Okay, so this definitely won't be a life long cage! That's alright though. I think the previous owner may have left this cage outside which is why the rust is SO bad. In terms of painting it, what would you recommend?
So I got a cage off craigslist that looked deceivingly like a FN cage. It turns out it is actually the feisty ferret cage. That's all fine and good because I can still order custom sized pans (that and the price was VERY good). My dilemma is dealing with the rust. I've been at it for a good hour...
