Do you own a digital gram scale? I would invest in one, if not, to keep an eye on their weights so you have a record, should you need them :D

I would suggest a new vet. Even of they were ok, at that young of an age, lettuce and anything with high sugar is bad. I would stop all of that. There are so many better options

Far better to stress him out, and find something early, rather than waiting and not being able to have fixed something if caught early. Hope he continues to do well.

I think this would have been my frame of mind, too. I hope he is feeling ok and not lethargic today. I will look back for a hopefully happy update.

Back to the topic at hand, a great "girlfriend" would be a fleece baby. I have many for my males and we call them their girl friends and no babies are made ;D If you search the for sale options you can find many who sell cute fleece stuffed things for your chin to have a no worries friend.

If it isnt a spray and they cant come in direct contact, it should be ok. Just keep them out of the chin room and wash your hands really well when you are done handling the trap.
