    Two New Chinchillas!

I rehomed my older chins to someone who I know is going to take great care of them. I didn't just let them go to the first persone off craigslist that said GIMME THAT CUTE FURRY LITTLE RABBIT-SQUIRREL! Haha.. It wasn't an easy decision. My life had just gotten too crazy. My relationship of 3...

    Two New Chinchillas!

I had chinchillas 2-3 years ago, and they were both 1-2 years old when I brought them home. I was looking for a chinchilla, and it just happened that there were babies available. I wasn't thinking that I must have an adorable baby! I would have been fine with an older chin, but that is what was...

    Two New Chinchillas!

First off, I just wanted to say *Thank You* to Tunes for answering some questions in a previous thread. I felt like I didn't need to bump and old thread with a thank you, since I will be posting this new one. Also thank you to AZChins who has been helpful! Alright, last Thursday I brought home...

Anywhere to buy Fleece Cage Liners without paypal?

While no money order is "Safe" from being stolen, I'd suggest using a USPS money order. They can track those. Also maybe someone would accept an Amazon gift card. You can buy online ones with a CC, and it's instant. Come on, who doesn't love Amazon? You can get anything on there!

Tried tile and fleece, and both had flaws

I use fleece liners with a towel between them, and no litter pan. It's easy to vacuum, unless they shred up wood or hay. If they shred things that makes it hard to vacuum, I just fold it up, and give it a good shake down outside. As soon as it starts to smell, throw it in the wash. It's good to...

    How To Make Tube Covers

Thanks for this! I followed this exactly and it works great. My new chins like hiding in the tubes more than their house. I was at lowes getting PVC pipe.. and 4" X 10' was less than a dollar more than 4" X 5'... so lets just say I have a TON of extra pipe. Not sure what to do with it.. I guess...

    Type of water

So RO is recommended, but is distilled bad? I'm using distilled right now, is it going to be alright to keep using it? Or should I make the switch to reverse osmosis.

Where do I find this at the store??

I got mine in the Hardware section of Lowes or Home Depot. To save time searching that giant store for one small ring, I'd ask an employee. At Lowes they always know where whatever I'm looking for is.. Even if I don't know the actual name of it.

What is/are your chin/s favorite treats?

When I had my 2 chins they would go crazy over Apple Wood Unfrosted Shredded Wheats Whole Rose Hips It's entertaining to watch them eat the wheats, because they hold them with both hands and go to town!

thinking of getting rid of the litter pan

When I had 2 chins in the same cage, I only used Fleece liners, no litter pan. They would normally pee in the corners. I vacuumed Poop / Hay every day, and normally washed the liner 1-3 times a week. Having some sort of towel in between two layers of fleece helped absorb the pee odor...

New Owner. Questions. Where to get supplies?

First off, I was a member of this Forum in the Past, and I appreciated all the help and information available here! I have owned Chinchillas in the past, but ended up rehoming them due to moving and a hectic school schedule. It's been about 2 years, and now I am in the process of purchasing...
