so some of you know i have a new baby coming soon. i played with them today! (the two i will choose from) but i found a baby chin that needs rescuing. i want to acquire it tomorrow. you think they could be together or should i leave them in different cages?

You would need to do a 30 day quarantine, but two babies should be able to hang out together. Doesn't mean they always can, but for now they should be alright.

Can I just say real quick though, don't get in over your head. Too many people buy and buy and buy without any real experience and the vet bills and illness and life get in the way of enjoying them. If you are sure you can afford to care for both, and will be able to keep them for their very long lives (sometimes 25 years), then that's okay. I just hope you have thought it through and aren't getting caught up in the moment or with the word "rescue."

oh i have! dont worry :) i have other pets as well and i know the responsibility of them. thank you for the quick response! and the other one is actually 1 year old (still very young) and not exactly a kit. i was thinking to just let them sniff each other and see their reaction and if its okay, then get a little closer, over time. i want to be very careful! are there any techniques with keeping them from fighting? or even hating each other.

oh yeah!!!! what is that for and what does it do?

A 30 day quarantine period is to ensure no one gets each other sick and to get the new chin settled without the added stress. This means separate cages in separate rooms. Please make sure before bringing the new chin into your house that they are of the same sex. If the older chin is a male and your new baby is a female they will try to mate and it would be terrible and detrimental if the baby would get pregnant at such a young age. There is no guarantees, even if you have 2 chins of the same sex, that they will get along after the 30 day quarantine. Please read up on Introductions (in the faq's). Also be prepared for them to be in separate cages if it doesn't work out.

ETA: I just reread your post about sniffing each other. Please do not let that happen within the 30 day quarantine period.
