wild harvesting for Chins

Anyone ever thought of going on BLM land to wild harvest woods for your chins? I've been thinking about going to find some manzanita, cottonwood, or aspen.

Also, can we add palm to the safe wood's list. I've seen a lot of people using the palm leaf shreaders for chews. Think the leaf stalks are ok also? Palm trees are all over here. I wonder if I bought one if I could use the fallen branches.
