I have a nice digital scale, that weighs in grams. What is the best way to get a chin to sit on the scale?

Tonight I ended up putting her in a pillow case. After subtracting the weight of the box I set her in and the weight of the pillowcase she turned out to be 509 lbs.

But then she came and stood on the scale without and she weighed what looked if me between 6oo and 7oo

So....how do you all go about measuring your chins weight ?

I just plop them on and put a hand over their head/eyes. Usually gets them to stay still long enough to get a reading. Some people put bowls on and tare the weight or put treats on the scale to keep them occupied.

i jsut put a big bowl on there, and set the chin inside. Used my hands to keep them from jumping out. They would eventually stay still long enough to get a read

I just put the chin on and use my hands as a barrier to prevent them from getting off the surface. If your chin won't cooperate, you can put a box or even their dust container would work, tare the scale, and then put the chin in.

I put the scale in the cage, most of my chins are curious enough they will jump on it long enough for me to get a weight.

I use a tall metal bowl and give my boy a treat to keep him occupied, I give him a bit of plain shredded wheat which he LOVES but ONLY gets when he's on the scale. Though I worry because my scale is iffy =.= The last time I'd weighed him he'd either magically gained around 300 grams or lost like 400 grams in a week even though he didn't look or feel significantly fatter or thinner..... of course the little bugger wouldn't stay still long enough for me to get it worked out and get a reasonable reading... argh! Scale woes.
