Watery eye :(

Hi we have just returned from our holidays. First thing I did was check on my babies . Charlie's eye looked partially closed last night checked her this morning and it looks a little watery I will make an appointment at the vets but there isn't anything near me that specialise in chinchillas. Any ideas what it could be? She seems ok eating fine came for a fuss but she looks sad may sound daft but she does!! May just be she looks a bit different with her malting ( she's losing her lovely black fur and looks like she's aged as she's grey underneath !)

Could be something in it, could be a corneal scratch, or could be an infection.

Id take her to a vet as soon as you can, as it is probably making her uncomfortable, and you don't want her to start pawing at it and potentially making it worse.

If it's one of the possibilities I've mentioned above, then a regular vet should be able to resolve the issue relatively quickly, with irrigation and/or antibiotic drops.

If the problem persists past treatment though, then you might want to look at finding a chin specialist, and having your chin's teeth checked out.
