What a sweet little guy! Some like to play, some like to cuddle, some don't like much at all. You can also try a play pen (the ferret kind are reasonable cheap) with some safe cat toys (no strings, small parts, durable) and toilet paper tubes (cut open lengthwise) and see if he'll enjoy playtime in that fashion.
