She sticks her butt in the air?

Hi all My name is Connie. I have a 3 year old Chin named Blueberry I adopted her from a person that could no longer care for her. She is my first Chinny so I kinda just research things as they come up and as we go along. I have had her for a year next month. Tonight as she was out for playtime, I noticed when I went to touch her she was sticking her butt up in the air. LOL. I have never seen this behavior out of her the whole time we have had her. I am assuming she is possibly in heat? I dont really know though because I am sure she must have gone through other hear cycles since I have had her, and I have never seen this before. Is it normal? Is she ok?

what kind of sticking in the air are we talking about?

sometimes my girl likes to lay fairly flat down. Since there back side is larger then there head, it looks like there but is in the air.
