Pine cones

Hi, I am a new member and probably have a question or two. Hope someone can help? Can I use any sort of pine cone as long as I prepare them properly for my chin. I am trying to give him a good variety of woody, but affordable, chews. Unfortunately there's not a great deal of variety for him here in Northern Ireland. I have gotten him willow, cholla etc, but he seems to be getting bored with them.

They are actually blue cloud rocks, not pumice.
