November 1st marks the founding of Whimsy's Menagerie & Chinchilla Rescue!
We're now in our forth year and going strong. Just this year alone we've found new homes for more than 100 chinchillas. As you can imagine, the chin rescue and supporting store has become a full time job and keeps us very, very busy. *cough* so much so that I only occasionally pop in on this site and tend to respond rather briskly.
It's been quite an experience meeting so many different people who are interested (or who were interested) in chinchillas.
Some of the situations are absolutely heart breaking, especially when we hear of chins who have been banished to the garage or are otherwise forgotten. One thing we do hear often enough is the relief people express when we tell them we'll do our best to help.
Anyway, I just wanted to share our good news. :hug2:
