New meds ok?

Ok so i took my little chin Mowgli to a new vet. SO much better already. Gave her a good examination. She did a fecal test for free. She couldn't find a parasite but said it could still be there. She prescribed Metronidazole. Has anyone used this?

It's fine, vets use it for parasites all the time. How long is she having you treat him with the new meds?

Twice a day for ten days. But if it makes it worse to quit immediately and call her.

Probiotics put the good bacteria back into the gut. They are used when a chin is given antibiotics (they strip the bacteria from the gut, good and bad). They are given 4 hours after the antibiotics.

You can get probiotics from a health food shop (look for the highest billions you can get) and can be sprinkled onto food, a mini shredded wheat, or in critical care. Vets sometimes sell probiotics too.
