i have a plastic container that is kind of tall. i set the plastic container on the scale BEFORE i turn it on then i set the chin inside and it works great! my cheap little walmart scale automatically recalculates the weight of the container since it was on before it was turned on.

SAme here with the container. My new little one wont sit still, but the big ones will sit still for a sec or two with a treat or if i hover my hands above them.

lol ok, put them in a container,
Miscu weighs 485 and Luvins weighs 495

I train mine to sit on the scale, made a video showing it. Both baby and adult chinchillas are exceptionally easy to train with repetition. Often it only takes two or three times before they learn - I don't weigh that often, maybe an adult that looks not quite right every few months and young babies.

Had that scale going on 9 years now. It's still spot on!
