How long without spraying before wood can be used?

My friend has an apple tree that hasn't been sprayed in 3 years. Is it safe to use the wood for chin treats? If not, how long would I need to wait. Thanks

No it's not safe to use the wood from that tree ever. Once a tree has been sprayed it retains chemicals in the wood forever. Only use wood from organically grown trees, ones that have never been sprayed or treated with chemical pesticide.
